Intro to Drop Spindle
Register hereHosted by Wool Friends in Ballard. May 7th, 6-8:30pm.
Spinning fiber into thread is one of the great joys of a fiber artist’s journey, and using a spindle is a classic way to get started. In this class Anna Hosick-Kalahan, co-owner of Skagit Woolen Works, will explore wool fleece, its properties, and which fibers are well suited for spindle. You will learn about different types of spindles and their components, how to draft, the park and draft method, and winding on. We will have a variety of Skagit Woolen Works’ locally sourced roving to play with, and you’ll have the opportunity to purchase a spindle and more roving to take home with you.

This class is geared towards beginner students, no experience required.
Students Bring to Class:
