Howard Brush Cards

Handcrafted in York, Maine, Howard Brush’s hand cards are manufactured to the exact specifications developed by the founders in 1866. Each hand carder is formed using select hardwoods, with a gently curved compromise between other flat and strongly curved carders, allowing for both styles of carding action. Our handles are ergonomically shaped making them easy and comfortable to grip. Our Hand Carder are finished with a warm hand-rubbed sheen using all natural oils and beeswax.

Flicker/Cleaner Brush: A multi-use cleaning and flicker card; features a curved face, ergonomically shaped handle, and hand-rubbed finish.

Blending/Packing Brush: Features a curved face, ergonomically shaped handle, and hand-rubbed finish, like the flicker/cleaner brush. Used to delicately blend and pack fibers on a drum carder, blending board, or hand cards. The tines going in the opposite direction than a hand carder give it a smoother action and reduce the likelihood of damaging the fibers being blended or damaging the cloth on the drum carder or blending board.
